SUSTAINABILITY
AT TEMPE, WE WORK EVERY DAY TO MOVE TOWARD A MORE SUSTAINABLE FUTURE FOR FASHION, COMMITTED TO PROTECTING THE PLANET AND PEOPLE’S LIVES

In 2001, over twenty years ago, Inditex joined the United Nations Global Compact, and since then we have demonstrated our strong commitment to society and the environment. Together with specialized scientists, environmental and social organizations, and partners from various fields, we aim to go one step further—contributing to innovation in the fashion world and leading the transformation of the industry.

We are committed to technology and innovation to make our design processes more efficient. We use tools such as 3D printing to visualize and refine designs before production, which allows us to reduce the number of physical prototypes, optimize resources, and minimize environmental impact.
Roadmap
At Inditex, we have set ambitious goals for this decade, aiming to limit global temperature rise to 1.5 °C. This commitment will allow us to move toward our goal of reaching net-zero emissions by 2040. As part of this roadmap, by 2030 we aim to protect, restore, or responsibly manage 5 million hectares to enhance biodiversity, reduce our emissions—across both our own operations and supply chain—by over 50%, and use only lower-impact textile fibers, whether recycled, next-generation, or sourced from organic or regenerative agriculture.

Supplier audits
All our non-exclusive suppliers comply with Inditex’s strict policies on human rights, product health and safety, and environmental protection. These standards apply to both our direct and indirect suppliers, who undergo regular audits to ensure full compliance throughout the entire supply chain.

Responsible design
Our design teams are trained to apply sustainability criteria in their decisions, always focusing on the quality and durability of the products.
Sustainability Innovation Hub
The Sustainability Innovation Hub is our innovation platform through which we continuously search for the best materials and processes—partnering with start-ups and building strategic research alliances with leaders in the chemical industry, innovation accelerators, and other key collaborators.

Distribution efficiency
Our logistics network operates 24/7 and guarantees 48-hour deliveries to all our stores. This responsiveness allows us to quickly adapt to customer demand, optimize inventory management, and reduce excess stock.
Sustainability culture
At Tempe, we understand sustainability as a shared responsibility and an ongoing commitment. That’s why we continuously seek solutions that allow us to reduce, reuse, and recycle the surplus generated throughout our operations. We hold the highest certification level of the True Zero Waste standard, which recognizes our efforts to minimize waste in our facilities.

Community commitment
We see community investment as an opportunity to contribute to sustainable development through voluntary initiatives that go beyond the boundaries of our value chain and the limits of our industry. Among these initiatives, we highlight our commitment to inclusion through the For&From project—a network of solidarity stores run by people with disabilities, with all profits dedicated entirely to social causes.
